About Ember & Oat
A small studio for the bath
We started in a Seoul kitchen with a soap pot, a stack of cooling bars, and a stubborn belief that what you put on your skin should be gentle, honest, and made from things you can actually pronounce.
Our story
Ember & Oat began at a market stall in Seongsu-dong in the spring of 2021. We had a few dozen bars of oatmeal-and-honey soap curing on a rack, a folding table, and no real plan beyond sharing something we made because our own skin was tired of harsh, synthetic washes. By the end of that first weekend the crates were empty, and we realised other people were looking for the same thing we were — bath and body care made slowly, from ingredients that are kind to skin.
Everything we make is made the same way today. We blend in small batches by hand — cold- pressed jojoba and sweet almond oils, unrefined shea butter, mineral salts, and real botanical extracts like calendula, lavender, and rose clay. We cure our soaps for six full weeks and test every recipe on ourselves first. If we wouldn't use it on our own skin every day, it doesn't make the shelf.
We believe in fewer, better things. One honest bar you reach for every morning is worth more than a shelf of plastic bottles you never quite trusted. That is the quiet idea behind the whole collection, and it's the invitation we extend to you: turn an ordinary wash into a small ritual, one natural, thoughtfully made product at a time.
